Membership in The Mayflower Society

A resident of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Hampton Barringer Luzak has experience in a variety of industries, most recently focusing on restoring and selling historical houses. Hampton B. Luzak is also involved in several nonprofits, including The Mayflower Society.

The Mayflower Society was originally established in the aftermath of the 1876 centennial celebration in the United States, which encouraged many Americans to consider celebrating their ancestors, such as those who arrived to the continent on the Mayflower. Since 1894, the society has served more than 100,000 members with ancestral ties to the Mayflower. The organization strives to honor the memory of the 1620 pilgrims through research and presentation of family history at a genealogy research center housed at the society’s headquarters in Plymouth.

To join The Mayflower Society, prospective members must prove their descent from a direct lineal ancestor and be at least 18 years of age (though some chapters offer junior memberships). Membership fees are set by each society’s chapter. To learn more about the society, visit https://themayflowersociety.org/.

Variety of skill levels. Jackson Hole is appealing to expert skiers and snowboarders, but 50 percent of the terrain is also suitable for intermediate and beginner levels, making it a great destination for the whole family.

The aerial tram. For those who want to quickly access expert and backcountry ski runs, the aerial tram transports 100 people to the top of Rendezvous Rock in under 15 minutes.

Fresh powder. Known by the locals as “cowboy powder,” the snow at Jackson Hole is famous for being consistent and light.

Airport proximity. Jackson Hole Airport is approximately 35 minutes from the mountains and is one of the few airports located within a national park, making for incredible views on arrival and departure.
